Reached

The thrilling conclusion to the New York Times Bestselling Matched Trilogy!

Perfect for fans of 1984, Brave New World, Black Mirror, and The Handmaid's Tale.

Cassia's journey began with an error, a momentary glitch in the otherwise perfect façade of the Society. After crossing canyons to break free, she waits, silk and paper smuggled against her skin, ready for the final chapter.

The wait is over.

One young woman has raged against those who threaten to keep away what matters most--family, love, choice. Her revolution is about to explode into full-scale rebellion. As an incurable plague sweeps through the Society, Cassia races to save both the lives and freedom of those she loves. With exquisite prose, the emotionally gripping conclusion to the international-bestselling Matched trilogy returns Cassia, Ky, and Xander to the Society to save the one thing they have been denied for so long, the power to choose.

Oy. I did it again y'all. I have added yet another book to my "disappoints list". There is so much I disliked about this book, it's unreal. I could go on and on and on. Rest assured, I am going to try and keep this as short and as classy as I can.

To start; I was wholly confused for the first 1/3 of the book. Admittedly, this is all me; since it has been awhile since I've read Crossed and I didn't re read it to re familiarize myself with the characters and world. I forgot about quite a few characters and about a few key things that had happened. It took me longer than I'd care to admit to say "oooh yeeeeah" and get with the program.

All my discombobulation set aside; the book was just plain boring. For over 300 pages I was anxiously waiting for something to just HAPPEN. What little happened, happened so suddenly and lacked depth or explanation, I could have sworn pages were missing. The whole plot was anticlimactic. Rebellion? WHAT rebellion? There were terms, people and places thrown in without any follow-up. What's the point in that?

As for the characters; aside from the few I FORGOT, there isn't too much to add. Cassia and Ky, TO ME, are exactly the same as the other two novels. Can we get some character growth? I mean, c'mon. I wasn't a fan of the added POV either. It's just odd to have two novels without his voice, to add it here. Add insult to injury, his voice is NO different from Cassia's and Ky's.

On a good note~ I did like the medical terminology.

Overall~ I loathed this book. Very disappointed with how this series has ended.
