Conversations about God can be challenging, especially when faith feels distant or difficult to relate to. This month’s book club discussion served as a powerful reminder of God’s presence, both through the book itself and through the reflections shared around the table.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Power Moves is how differently each chapter resonates with each reader. While we all read the same words, we walked away with unique insights, lessons, and moments of reflection. The book left many of us feeling different from when we first opened its pages.
For some, it reignited faith that had grown faint. For others who have already begun their journey with God, it offered deeper understanding and renewed perspective. It encouraged those who had lost confidence to believe again, try again, and keep moving forward. The book also beautifully highlights women in positions of influence and leadership, demonstrating how faith can coexist with ambition, purpose, and power.
Interestingly, our initial rating for the book was 6/10. However, after the discussion, hearing different interpretations and personal takeaways added so much value that the collective score increased to 8/10. It was a reminder that reading in community can enrich a book in ways that reading alone sometimes cannot.

Now this one took some time of learning, reflecting and journaling. There’s too many of my favorite quotes from her in here! The marinate, activate and pray pieces at the end of every chapter really had me convicted. Definitely a beautiful piece of my walk with Christ. “Jesus knows we’re raggedy” is just one of the quotes that truly made me laugh and reminded me who is the created and who is the creator! Heavenly Father, I thank you for allowing me to read this and resonate so deeply with the women who have gotten to the end of this book. Allow us to continue to be a light to all of those we encounter in this life. Continue to guide us, strengthen us and help us to spread the gospel. I pray this prayer more often times then none. Your will God, nothing more, nothing less and nothing else! It is so, in Jesus name Amen! Highly recommended!
