Phoebe and Her Unicorn (Volume 1)

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR!
"Phoebe is a remarkably real little girl, as bright and imaginative as Bill Watterson's Calvin, as touchingly vulnerable as Charles Schulz's Charlie Brown...Simpson is that good, and that original." --Peter S. Beagle, author of The Last Unicorn
It all started when 9-year-old Phoebe skipped a rock across a pond and accidentally hit a unicorn in the face. Improbably, as a result Phoebe was granted one wish, which she used to make the unicorn, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, her best friend.
In this first collection of Dana Simpson's beloved comic strip series, the bond between precocious Phoebe and self-absorbed but kind Marigold grows into a true friendship. Along the way, Phoebe deals with the usual burdens of childhood (cruel classmates, gym class, piano lessons) and some unusual ones (magic hair, candy-breathing dragons, and the legendary Shield of Boringness).
Vividly drawn and witty, this charming series is perfect for young readers ages 8-10 and sure to mesmerize even reluctant readers.

I love me a good unicorn. This comic is so funny and cute. I lol’d many times. So glad I picked it up, I read a third of it by the time I got up to the register. There are seven volumes and I am so ready to take on this adventure.
AND Peter S. Beagle wrote the introduction, which is awesome. He is awesome.
