Phantom of the opera

Wow. I love the musical and was very excited to read the book. I compared each while reading which was a fun brain exercise to see what ALW changed. Originally the book was written in French, which I will be reading next. This book is a tragedy with a happy ending. The reader is walked through a horror story where they don’t know the truth till the end. There is one specific scene where I thought it was just a fever dream. If you like villains who are mad, damsels who aren’t always in distress, and side characters who should be main characters, this is the book for you!

My god I hated this book. So boring. Idk I expected the story to go in a whole different direction about what actually happened.

Literally so good!!! There is so much more to the story that the musical shows and I absolutely love it. Raoul is a lil baby, Christine is actually insane, the Persian is the GOAT and ERIK IS MY SWEET BABY BOY AND HE IS SO GOOFY I LOVE HIM!
