PAH

The characters are well-developed, with their own unique struggles, quirks, and dreams. The author's attention to detail and use of dialect and slang lend an added layer of realism to the story. Very well written.

It was only halfway through that I realised that this book is a prequel to The Lost Thumb, which I haven’t read. I get the impression that this reading experience would’ve been more captivating if I had known the story that lies ahead. So this review is based on not having that prior connection. I’m still processing, I definitely enjoyed reading PAH, I always looked forward to picking the book up to read some more. The characters were so vividly described I felt like I knew them. Found myself oddly rooting for Susan (don’t judge me I don’t understand why either !) it’s a book that will stay with me. Planning on reading The Lost Thumb soon as it seems the books will blend.
