Unbelievable book cannot recommend enough for both kids and adults. Takes people all differences and allows you to think of how life is from their perspective as well as how to do better. Treating everyone with kindness and respect is so important. This book makes one want to be a better human every day.
Wonderful YA book about a fifth-grader with cerebral palsy who cannot walk or talk, who finds her voice through the help of some special people in her life and is finally able to express herself and let others know just how special she is.
Melody has Cerebral Palsy and this is her side of the story on her life. The ups and downs. The friendships and bullying. It gives a good perspective on how it feels to be different.
Sharon Draper is awesome. This is a great book for younger readers to almost literally get into the head of a child with a disability and gain understanding and compassion--without pity. Actually, it's a great book for adults to do the same, and it reminds us not to underestimate any person based on what we see on the outside.
