I really enjoyed reading this book. I found it on my mother in-law's bookshelf. I have been interested in reading Nouwen but never had. I was drawn to the book as a best friend unexpectedly died Thanksgiving evening. I have been wrestling over her death.

I like what Nouwen has to say about dying and caring. By caring a part of you lives on. I see my caring for my friend's children will not only an extension of myself but of her as well. My friend was a caring person. I help her memory continue by being a caring person as well.

I think this book is a good addition to A Grace Disguised (which I still have to finish).
