One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, No. 1) (Stephanie Plum Novels)

This seems like a low rating, but I'm honestly being kind.
I have a handful of friends who love this series, but who aren't all necessarily huge readers. I talk about books all the time, so I wanted to have something new to talk about with them that They were already experts on. I've known about these books since I was in high school, but it never really appealed to me but finally, I'm at a point where I want something quick and fun to read: that's just what this was.
It's the first book in a loooong series, so I expect that there's more build up later on. The first book is just starting to lay the groundwork, so it's not very substantial. Though we do get a clue on Stephanie Plum's origin.

This is laugh out loud fun series.

This is not my usual cup of tea, as far as books go but One for the Money really took me by surprise. I love the great character development and relationship development that the author gave us. It's full of laughs and is a nice light and fluffy read. I doubt I will read the rest of the series because I can't see a good book series continuing to be good after 9 and the reviews seem to agree with me but truly loved this book and the fashion throwback was fabulous!

Not a bad story (in fact it was pretty good) but the writing style drove me nuts. It felt like every other paragraph needed to end with "ba dum ching!" So annoying.

This was a quick, fun read. Stephanie, a 30yr old, down on your luck girl, gets laid off and becomes a Bounty Hunter for her cousin, Vinny. She knows absolutely nothing about the trade, but gets help from the fugitive she’s seeking and another Hunter. She gets herself in situations that only her worst luck can get herself into. Parts of the story had me laughing and just enough suspense to keep me reading. Will definitely continue the series.
