She sees the pregnancy as an inconceivable tragedy both for Lily and herself. Then comes word of two more pregnancies among other high school juniors who happen to be Lily's best friends. This is the second book I read from this author, and this one was slightly better. Ms. Delinsky writes about women who are confronted with difficult situations. And that's good, here we have 3 pregnant 17-year old, including the principal's daughter. But again, Ms Delinsky adds far too much to the mix, knitting, estranged mother, lover who won't leave, backward town, people who change all of a sudden, diseases. The pregnancies seemed to take second place after a while.
