No Ordinary Love

An Instant USA TODAY Bestseller!

A PR partnership between a pop superstar and a pro-athlete bad boy turns into so much more in this swoony romance from the acclaimed author of When I Think of You.

Ella Simone’s popstar life is what dreams are made of. Her eight year marriage to renowned music producer, Elliot Majors, has helped garner the hits, awards, and adoring fans to prove it. But when Ella tires of Elliot's many infidelities, she decides to fight for her independence despite the ironclad prenup that threatens her career.

To help her case, Ella is under strict orders to stick to The Plan: no headlines, no rumors, no rocking the boat. But this strategy is thrown a curveball after an awards show wardrobe snafu and quick rescue by Miles Westbrook, MLB’s most eligible player, sends the tabloids into a frenzy. Amid tricky divorce proceedings, Ella’s magnetic connection with the charismatic pitcher might just be her downfall.

Now the pressure is on to turn a scandal into an opportunity and give their teams what they want: a picture-perfect performance that will shore up both Ella and Miles' reputations. But as the lines between reality and PR begin to blur, Ella will either stick to the choreographed life she knows so well, or surrender to a love that could set her free.

I really enjoyed this story, and Ella’s connection to Sade Adu. First, I love our FMC’s name, Elladie. That is beautiful. I hated that she had to go through such a public fiasco with her divorce and how Ariel touches on how women get treated in real life and the media when it comes to infidelity. I liked how Miles made her feel, like having a crush again for the first time but she really didn’t know how to navigate her feelings after being married to the first man she loved. I LOVED how the lawyer touched on grooming and different kinds of abuse briefly. Great Easter egg. I loved the convos with her friends, and how real that she could be with them and Miles. This was a cute, fun romance with some well written fade to black spicy scenes. If you’re looking for spice this is not for you but it’s a sweet story nonetheless.

NOL was cute or whatever! It felt like it was inspired by and dedicated to on Sade’s classic love song! This was a romance centered around popular singer, Ella Simone and baseball pro, Miles. Ella is in the process of divorcing her philandering husband who also manages her career. Ella and Miles meet at an awards ceremony where he helps her with a wardrobe snafu. After that, he plays her love interest in her new music video where the sparks are flying off the screen. With the palpable attraction between each other, coupled with their stardom, rumors begin to flaw. This sets the stage for a drama filled TMZ style drama. It was good and entertaining to watch it unfold, and we see stories like this daily in the blogs, amIright? Miles was completely smitten with Ella and I could envision him watching her like she was dripping of 24k gold. It was sweet! There were some cute and tender moments with Miles and Ella and the spice was really good, without being overly descriptive. Loved the narration—smooth and engaging. The laid-back pace made it a really relaxing and enjoyable read. Interested to chat with and read the reviews of my buddy read crew! 👀
