This book is about a child named David. He is consistently getting in to trouble and is told "No David!" by his mother. Some of David's antics include: writing on the walls with crayon, coming into the house dirty, exiting the house butt naked, banging on pots and pans, playing with his food, picking his nose, and not putting his toys away. After getting put in time-out, David is called by his mother and is told that yes, she loves him.

I feel that many children can relate to this story. Children constantly get in trouble and goof around, like David. They are messy, loud, gross, and do not understand order. They also get in trouble for doing these things, like David. It is very important that his mother tells him that she loves him in the end because it shows children that even though their parents can be strict or mean, they still care for you and love you no matter what.
