The book introduces new interesting concepts of how one's mind works. The concepts assume there is a real inner world and the author tries to explain complex themes such as the existence of one central being in the universe in which all of us are connected: "The Self", but poorly has his point across. I find value in this book because it explores the complexities of one's mind after trauma and explores how to heal these wounded parts. Overall, it was a good reading.

I really wanted to like this one. I loved the interview Rich Roll did with the author and appreciated a lot of aspects of the book. The idea of "parts" that can be reached and the 8 Cs were intriguing.

The author seemed just so... sure of himself and his work, to the point of being almost cult-leader-like. He admitted to being totally wrong in the early part of his career (while believing he was absolutely correct at the time), yet that same arrogance shows up in this book now that he *knows better*. It just feels off.
