My Nightmare Is Yours: A Madison Night Mystery (#13)

Mod designer Madison Night is with her friend Connie Duncan when they discover a body in the park. The young woman has a connection to Connie’s ex-husband who also wants to hire Madison for an intriguing design opportunity. Madison is caught between loyalty to Connie, Ned’s ties to her own ex, and her boyfriend, Police Chief Allen’s belief in Ned’s guilt. When Madison gets in the killer’s way, will that be the end of Mad for Mod? Though my first read in this series, I found myself easily drawn into Madison’s world. Mid Century Modern is definitely my aesthetic so it was easy to imagine the clothing and designs as described in the narrative. Ms. Vallere provided enough backstory on the characters and previous events to not feel lost jumping in mid-series. The mystery was engaging, well plotted, and kept me guessing until the final reveal. Looking forward to spending more time with Madison and friends as I read through the earlier volumes.
