My Life with the Walter Boys

A New York Times Bestseller

Now a Netflix series!

When a tragic accident leads Jackie to move into a house filled with eleven boys, she gets far more than she ever expected. This sweet YA romance is perfect for fans of Kasie West and Jenny Han--and is one of the most beloved Wattpad books ever!

Moving in with eleven boys was not part of the plan.

Jackie's goal is perfection--perfect grades, the perfect look, getting into the perfect school. If she can achieve that, then maybe her too-busy mom and dad will take notice. But when her parents die in a tragic accident, Jackie is shipped off across the country to live with the Walters, her new guardians...who just happen to have eleven sons (plus a daughter who is basically one of the boys).

The Walter boys are loud, dirty, annoying--and, okay, some of the older boys might be Greek god level hot, but they don't think a city girl belongs on their horse ranch. How is Jackie supposed to fit into their chaotic world when she needs to keep her parents' memory alive by living up to the promise of perfect?

But as Jackie spends more time with the Walter boys, she begins to wonder if the perfection she's always strived for isn't the only way to find love after all.

Funny and moving, My Life with the Walter Boys is perfect for readers looking for:

  • Wattpad love stories
  • contemporary romance for teens
  • binge-worthy YA novels
  • relatable characters

After watching the tv series I wanted to see how different the book was. The huge climax of the book and show was different and allows the show to continue. I feel like the book could end as a stand alone and it would be fine. The climax in the book allowed for the book to have a conclusion later.

This was a great read. A YA book that Is relatable and you really feel for Jackie. She's lost both her parents and her sister. Her new guardian lives out in Colorado. Jackie needs to move from NYC, an all girls boarding school and head out to Colorado, to a regular HS at 17, and live in a home with 11 boys! Talk about drama-poor Jackie, trying to live in a chaotic home now.

I listened on audio. And, did not enjoy the performance of the talent. Too perky for someone supposedly grieving the loss of her entire family. She was just reading this thing. Aside from that, the characters were unauthentic. Jackie and Alex jumped immediately into a relationship of boyfriend/girlfriend, while smoldering for Cole. Huh?!?. Living under the same roof. Parents are practically absent with no guidance at all. Cole was off the rails as a rule the school bad boy. No boundaries. No expectations set. Skipping school. Underage drinking and little to no consequences. And, oh yeah, the reason Jackie came to live in Colorado was to be under guardianship by the Walters. But when one of their sons wins a summer program drama spot at a camp in NYC, the mom thinks it’s okay to have him and Jackie live together in Jackie’s family’s penthouse for the summer without any parental supervision? Wasn’t she supposed to be her guardian? Just seemed way out of whack from normal behavior. I hear the miniseries on Netflix is a different thing, has a life of its own. Perhaps it’s much better than the book.
