If you liked "The Help," then you'll probably really like this. It's more "real," in my opinion, but was really good. It's not "let the white folk come in and save the black folk." It's just the story of two families, one white and one black, in Mississippi during share cropping days.

Here is what this book did for me:

I had been reading just to read for awhile. The dreaded reading rut (dun dun dun). All of a sudden I was reading because I couldn't stand putting the book down. When I was away I thought about coming home to the book. This book.
