Mr. Swoony: The Nest, Book 3

Hockey players were never my type.
At least, that's what I thought-until I met Conor Nilsen. In truth, I didn't know he was the goalie for the Chicago Falcons when he struck up a conversation the night of my bachelorette party.
He proved he wasn't just some hot guy looking to score when he helped me get my drunk bridesmaid safely back to our hotel. That's when he discovered my 30-before-30 bucket list-a list I hadn't managed to check a single item off.
What was meant to be a night of stargazing turned into so much more. The chemistry between us was undeniable, and after one innocent night together, I started to question everything-especially my upcoming wedding to a man I wasn't sure loved me.
Fast forward to my wedding day, and just as I'm standing at the altar, Conor bursts through the church doors to object. And now, somehow, I'm his roommate. Yikes.

I have loved reading books by Piper Rayne. I truly enjoyed Mr.Swoony more than all of them so far. What I loved about this book was that Conor knew in his heart that he belonged to Eloise. He knew she was the one but gave her a lot of grace and space to find out who she was. I loved the idea of stopping a wedding and I felt like how it all happened was well written.
The story talks a lot about self worth and finding your voice. Eloise came from a circle that didn’t allow her to have that. Throughout the story Conor helps her to find those moments where she can be strong, stand up to her ex, her grandparents and also face the scrutiny of media. I loved how Conor wasn’t always the hero, but just her “Lulu Sidekick”. There is something powerful about a couple with a connection like theirs. I appreciated that this book was about realization and also coming to ones senses when you aren’t happy.
Conor is for sure the most Swoon worthy of them all. He’s so patient, kind and understanding. He wanted Eloise to enjoy life and also be happy in it. I just loved how he made her feel. I loved their banter, which was the best part of the book. Conor does make a few decisions that are not the best, but they are handled like adults and quickly recover from them.
The drama in the story is done well. Eloise’s ex Tristan is annoying. But he is an adult about how things end. And ten Conor’s stalker…is a sad story but also handled better towards the end.
Of course the side characters are amazing. They are fun, and Bodhi makes some appearance. I love that little guy.
Thank you Piper Rayne for this lovely read! And thank you Valentines PR as well. I can’t wait for Tweeties story!
