Menagerie (The Menagerie Series Book 1)

The world building and writing were very good, but I'm not a fan of violence against women and children even to build worlds. It was very realistic and not quite the fantasy escape I was looking for.

Quite good. Well written, interesting characters. I'm not sure about the sequel just yet.
