Not sure what I expected on this but it took be for a journey that I didn’t know I needed. I can’t wait for the next book!!
As someone who grew up watching murder documentary and went into psychology for a bit I found like so intriguing. It's quite a mind fuck. It has the murder, occult ritualis, philosophy, psychological thriller and some dark romance. My interests were all peaked.
From the beginning I was caught on the webs of this book with how odd the murder scene was. The dual POV was interesting. Both of them are intelligent and makes you feel like you are reading two different books. Halen, a crime scene profilers view is more of the story and while Kallum, a philosophy professor is more obsession. This is basically much a Hannibal fanfic but the plot and character development makes it work so well. That ending though I was not expecting.

A Lil dark and cringe in some areas, but then it got eerily steamy lol
WTF! I’m at a loss. Chaos and mayhem! And the sick twist. They did warn me at the beginning of the book! Lmao 😱🤣
This was my first introduction to Joe Arden voicing a rather sinister character and I am here for it! The narration was beautiful on both parts. I think if I had read the book instead of listening to it, I probably would have put it down at some point and not picked it back up.
There were parts of the book that were tiresome, especially a lot of the back and forth of the MC's. I also got a little lost in the weeds when it came to the topic of philosophy, however, I do think it was eloquently added to the storyline that did make me appreciate it more - I just found myself really having to pay attention to what was happening around it.
Overall, the book is a great read and I highly suggest listening to the audio version! I loved the twists and turns and I did not see the last one coming - it snuck up on me!
