Holy hell. I just read a slew of other reviews and am a little creeped out by how many people are creeped out by this book.
It wasn't a favorite of mine when I was younger. I don't recall my mom ever reading it to me. As an adult, I've read it a handful of times and get choked up within a few pages each time. I don't find it creepy at all or read too much into it - I want to take it as unconditional love between a mother and her child and leave it as simple as that. And that's why it gets five stars from me. Because Munsch gets me...or whatever.
