I wasn't sure how I would rate this book for a while. At times, it felt like it was dragging a bit, and I couldn't stand the main character, so I was thinking maybe 3 stars. But I was reading it at 4 AM and my heart was pounding because the atmosphere was just so well described, and I thought - okay, maybe it's more than 3 stars. 3.5 stars? idk.

I picked this book up because it made me think of the podcast Limetown, which I adore. From the beginn...read more

Definitely a thriller. In two time periods but the same location. A young woman brings a filming crew to a deserted Swedish village, to make essentially a fundraising film so that she can investigate the strange happening there in 1959. The Lost Village was an easy read with great atmosphere. I found the main character unlikeable and felt like many of the characters changed personality according to what the author needed for the plot, but I still enjoyed the mystery. Trigger warning for abuse of a disabled character, which I found difficult to handle, but was pivotal to the plot. This isn't a spoiler because it's mentioned quite early in the book.

This book is a page-turner and left me wanting to know more, which was the only fault to the book, too many questions that were left up to the reader to guess. I enjoyed the read and would recommend this to other friends to see what they though.
