Full disclosure: I'm a Hillary fan. So this book just reconfirmed my thoughts on how smart and talented she is. It was also an interesting insider's look on some of the major events surrounding the (Bill) Clinton Presidency. And it showed her more human side I think. Yes, there were a lot of self-serving stories, but I guess you have the right to do that when you're writing a book about yourself, right?
Anyway, the book was not a WOWer, nor a page turner. I plodded through it at times. There weren't any really big surprises. As I said, I love Hillary and this just served to affirm my feelings. Anyone who doesn't like her I'm sure could pull things out of it to affirm their negative feelings about her. I just hope it's not too late for her to have her shot at the Presidency! :)

There's a lot in this memoir. Clinton discusses her childhood, her time as the Governor's wife in Arkansas, her time as Frist Lady, and her run for New York Senate. She discusses controversial policy issues such as the Clinton-era welfare reforms and her attempt to introduce health insurance reform. She discusses foreign policy challenges during her husband's administration. She also gives her perspective of the numerous scandals that dogged the White House during her husband's administration including Whitewater and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. It was definitely an interesting and a good reminder of all the history we lived through ourselves.
