Lethal Vows

Dear Miss Ricci
You don't know this yet, but you will be my wife.
Sincerely
Your soon-to-be husband
He thought I was his-that's what his emails indicated.
He thought that because our families signed on the dotted line many years ago, it was a done deal.
But I ran away from that life for a reason.
Little did I know, he would find me. And he wasn't going to take no for an answer.
Crue wanted me to be his wife.
And all I wanted was him in my bed.

I did not like this one. It's an enemies to lovers mafia romance. She is a headstrong lawyer, he's powerful in the mafia. They are contracted to be married in a matter of months unbeknownst to her. He tries to woo her and she is extremely aggressive in resisting him. She finds out that there is a contract but is not irrate about it, in fact its barely discussed. We have no idea how much time is passing, there is zero urgency to make this happen fast, and then suddenly its an emergency and there are 2 weeks left. At the end of the book it's like her switch flips and she is one second never ever marrying him and then the next second she tells him she loves him. No inner discussion about it after she spent the whole book fighting him, just bam, I love him now. It was very abrupt and jarring. No aha moment or anything. She agrees to marry him and she writes up some stupid contract that says she can cheat on him if he pisses her off and that she won't have his baby. And then the book just ends. Bam, done.
