I think talking about women in science is important, and talking about the discrimination of women in science is even more important but Bonnie Garmus didn't do a very good job. The writing is ok, but the characters are flat, there are too many cliches, and some episodes would better be cut out or changed - like the episode with the rape, for example. I loved this book so much. Elizabeth Zott was such a wonderful and complex protagonist. This story made my feminist heart want to scream at times and cry tears of joy at other times. It’s not a light, fluffy book, but it’s a good book.
I’m glad I gave this book a chance. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don't normally care for romance stories, just not my thing.
