Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, Book 6)

I’m so sad that it’s over! (Well, Vampire Academy at least. I can at least move onto Bloodlines lol). This book series is amazing. It’s crazy how many years it took me to read it. I owned the first book and it sat on my shelf for 8 or 9 years. (I fell out of reading halfway through my sophomore year in high school). I’m so glad I finally sat down and read it. Easily in my top 5 favorite book series. (Which, at that point I just say it’s one of my top 5 favorite books cause you gotta have a complete set haha)! Not many authors can write a series and have the writing get better with every book. Especially, something as amazing as character development. Every single character becomes unforgettable and amazing! Obviously, you have the top 3 favorites for everyone being Rose, Dimitri, and Lissa. SO excluding them, my favorites are Abe, Mia, and Adrian. What Rose did to Adrian by the way? Horrendous! Listen, I love her, but girl, you’re embarrassing me. I wish this fight wouldn’t have happened near the end of the book, because it killed the vibe of the happy ending. I would have had this happen sooner, with Adrian still proving that he’s a good guy, but having him tell Rose to stay away from him in the end. That’s my only critique for this book. As a whole though? I’m sad that Strigoi weren’t really the main villains. That’s my biggest letdown in the entire series. They popped up every now and again with book 4 being the most prominent (and kind of what I had imagined with antagonists), but that was really it. They spend a lot of time talking about how Strigoi are the real villains, but most of the time it’s a system of oppression. Which shocks me that there isn’t a bigger plot with dhampires wanting to be equals with Moroi. It feels like something bubbling under the surface with that, but then it gets brushed away within a paragraph or two that they’re fine with the life they live. But honestly? It’s an amazing book series! I always joke that this and Once Upon a Broken Heart made me a woman lol. But it’s truly an awesome series that I wish I could read for the first time again. I hope that someday soon we’ll return to the Vampire Academy universe because I really love these characters. Thank you, Richelle Mead, for making such an amazing series and allowing us to read it.

These books were absolutely incredible! I loved this series and I love how strong Rose is. Dimitri is so sexy and a such a complicated character. When Dimitri was is a bad place and my heart was crying for him. I loved when Dimitri and Rose get back together, I was so dang happy! I was cracking up when Abe and Janine were getting on Dimitri for dating their daughter! I ordered Bloodlines online and I can’t wait to read it!!!!
