Last Kiss has been one of my most anticipated novels of 2016. I fell in love with the characters, story, and writing in First Touch, and based on the massive cliffhanger, I knew Last Kiss would be just as thrilling, dark and emotionally gutting as it's predecessor. I was not wrong.

Last Kiss started right where First Touch ends. Joe showing up at the ranch with the infamous Amber in all her glory. The recap of the previous book was naturally weaved into the story, and I'm glad it wasn't overwhelming.

In First Touch, there's a whirlwind of emotions with Emily; as she tries to piece together Amber's life, and how much of the events that had unfolded were at the hands of Reeve. All at the same time as Emily and Reeve's romance develops. In Last Kiss, a lot of those questions were answered, and there's more back story into Emily and Amber's relationship, in addition to the suspense of Reeve's life and the mystery behind it all. It was rather thrilling, and let me tell you, unpredictable.

The romance between Emily and Reeve is one of my favorites. As we learn more about Reeve, and even Amber, we see just how well Reeve and Emily work. Set aside their off the charts sexual chemistry and hot as hell scenes together; these two understand each other, support each other and have this incredible bond that can't be broken. Even at the hands of Amber.

Character wise, I felt like we learned a lot more about each one. Especially Amber and Reeve. Emily's insecurities were apparent in the first book. She was a lot more strong-willed and had a stronger aura of confidence, it was glaringly obvious that the hold that Amber has on her was slowly killing her. As for Reeve, we see a completely different side of him. We see the real him, not what he was showing Emily and in turn, us. He's a lot more vulnerable than he lets on and I enjoyed getting to know that side of Reeve.

In the end, when all the pieces start to fit and everything starts to make a hell of a lot of sense, it's mind-blowing. I had this crazy sadist laugh break out of me because of the genius of it all. If you're looking for a fast paced, sexy as hell and exquisite romantic suspense, then I highly recommend this dark and captivating series. It's not to be missed.

I'm trying so hard not to let (spoiler) consume my thoughts because I can't give her the satisfaction. Ugh. I'm beyond shocked.

That being said, I loved how their story wrapped up and the different sides to each character that we see.
