I loved the author’s description of how language has changed, this is mainly why I kept reading. After reading the book, and maybe because I took my time reading it, there are two resonant scenes in my mind: cutting and squeezing the orange, and mothers with their strollers in a cafe. Scary, sad and beautifull. The innocence of children mixed with dedication of the elderly made me cry. Funny how language and holidays changed after the policy. Would probably be way better in Japanese.
