Lair of Dreams: A Diviners Novel (The Diviners, 2)

The thrilling supernatural sequel in The Diviners series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Libba Bray! The longing of dreams draws the dead, and this city holds many dreams. After a supernatural show down with a serial killer, Evie O'Neill has outed herself as a Diviner. With her uncanny ability to read people's secrets, she's become a media darling and earned the title "America's Sweetheart Seer." Everyone's in love with the city's newest It Girl... everyone except the other Diviners. Piano-playing Henry Dubois and Chinatown resident Ling Chan are two Diviners struggling to keep their powers a secret--for they can walk in dreams. And while Evie is living the high life, victims of a mysterious sleeping sickness are turning up across New York City. As Henry searches for a lost love and Ling strives to succeed in a world that shuns her, a malevolent force infects their dreams. And at the edges of it all lurks a man in a stovepipe hat who has plans that extend farther than anyone can guess... As the sickness spreads, can the Diviners descend into the dreamworld to save the city? In this heart-stopping sequel to The Diviners, Printz award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Libba Bray takes readers deeper into the mystical underbelly of New York City.

Amazing storytelling, amazing writing! The book reads almost like a constant drone flying through each scene. I'm most surprised by the vivid imagery, but the character banter is by far my favorite part of this book. I need more Sam time for sure.
"Sam!" Sam said, hugging himself. "You're welcome. Don't mention it."
Holy sweet mother of baby dragons.
What of dreams if there were mostly only nightmares?
Ok, so many secrets revealed, and so many new mysteries. How many books are supposed to be there, because I can see at least ten with the rhythm we're going. And I love the idea.
Bring more new characters, loving characters, terrifying characters, and lovingly terrifying new characters.
Wei Mae and Louis had my heart from the start, and went to hell with it, I wish I could have it back. Babies, free me how you were freed. Please.
THIS BOOK WAS BEAUTIFUL and my comments make no sense.
It was horrifying and terrific! it was so full of pain and awe.
It was like being back in The Realms, but it was all different, though It Felt Quite The Same.

SERIOUSLY?! April 14, 2015?!
It has become alarmingly clear how little Libba Bray cares about my feelings.
Libba: Hey, Natalie! Guess what? My book is going to come out April 22, 2014!
Natalie (Me): WAHOOO!!!
Natalie (Me): Huh. I can't find that Diviners Numero Dos in the library. I better check Goodreads and make sure I'm not missing anything.
Libba: Oh, shoot! I forgot to tell you that we've pushed this back almost a FULL YEAR. Have fun weeping into your pillow tonight! MUHAHAHAHAHA!
Natalie (Me) :(

But I still love you. And I'll still wait.
