Kulti
When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it's supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to.
It didn't take a week for twenty-seven-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what she'd seen in the international soccer icon-why she'd ever had his posters on her wall, or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies.
Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man that hadn't known she'd existed. So she isn't prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team's season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man he'd once been.
Nothing could have prepared her for the man she got to know.
Or the murderous urges he brought out in her.
This was going to be the longest season of her life.

Like what is this master piece that I am so lucky to have read? HOOWWWWWW??!!!
Ok this is the best Mariana Zapata book that I have read yet.
I really really reaaaallllllyyyy love that she creates female characters that are bold in their choices. Sal in this book is so relatable so real, its as if hearing my own thoughts written down, or even some confessions from my friends.
I adore that so far all her main characters are Latina, and Zapata being Latina herself, she knows how to weave the culture into the being of her main ladies.
Sal is head strong, a fierce athlete, well respected and (possibly) feared for her skill. She has a conscious though, she wont backstab, steal, cheat. She is fearless in her honor. That's something that can be encouraging to read... Its also refreshing.
Then you have Kulti. Grumpy German chocolate cake hahahah or so what she calls him.
I kinda hate when girls are like ugh I hate rude guys in books, but fawn over Georgian novels and Darcy's ol' prejudice ass.
One of the most sexiest conquers a good girl could have is a cold, bitter, mean hearted hunk rip his heart out and hand it over to her.
I dare you to top that. Come at me sis.
Excellent book! 5*!!
