This has been on my tbr for a long time hyped up by many youtubers and I can say it mostly lived up to hype. Its was a very enthralling book with very interesting world homogeneous to ours but with "jade" being able to give powers to people but only certain people who can actually control it and even then, they can be tempted by it also. I didn't love the characters, but I understood each of their viewpoints and motives which is the next best thing you can ask for. The personal dynamics between characters epically stood out to me with the mafia type setting which is not my favorite. Another thing also done well is the natural progression of time with days or weeks happening between chapters naturally and organic to the plot which I don't always see in other stories. Will take a little break before reading the next installment. There are some twists in the book but didn't land particularly for me as kind of saw them coming.
