(3.5 stars) This is a sweet story of two sisters forced to grow up long before they should have to. It's a Christian fiction book, but not in an in-your-face kind of way. I didn't really know that before picking the book up; however, knowing that wouldn't have deterred me from doing so. Quite simply, it's a novel with values and morals that we should all be living by at our core anyways.
The characters are likable and believable. The story itself flows well and doesn't dwell too long on any scene. You *can* tell that it has been translated from another language but it's not bad. The words tend to be simple, much like a young-adult read, so it makes for a fast read.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to clean their palette with something sweet and fresh. One piece of warning, at the end you may tear up just a wee bit. So I'd urge you to read the last couple of chapters NOT in a public place. :)
