First I have to mention that the audiobook is DUET! I am a huge fan of duet audiobooks, and this one was great in that fact.

It feels like everyone stays a stranger to each other. Even though they're supposed to be falling in love during this book, they seem to be so proper and treating each other so formally that they never develop friendships or relationships with each other. They just are always at arm's length. It doesn't feel like there's any way that these people are truly in love, and I continued to get that vibe from book 2.
There is no origin story for the marks on their wrists, the book actually comes out and says, wow, wouldn't it be great if we had background on this.
We don't get the backstories for any of the characters we don't know how Tam became a superstar.Did he work as a child actor would he work as a child singer? Was he in a boy band and went solo, we have no idea how he's out selling taylor swift, we have no idea. We don't know Lake or Jules family history.Besides, they have this curse thing. We don't know how their schooling was.We don't know if there's been stigma against them in this tiny town they live in because of the curse. We don't know anything about them at all. Kasey, seriously? Where did this chick come from? How is she even a singer? Does she perform on her own?
This is about people falling in love in a very big hurry, and they even talk about having sex is one way to cement the relationship. Is not a spicy book. 🌶1/5 chilis on the spicy scale. I wouldn't even call this a romance. There was not really that much romance happening. He really just bought her a lot of boba tea.
Or just do the one or two songs with Tam?
I listened to the audiobook. Keong Sim does an amazing job with the male voices. I found Lake to be very annoying, and i'm not sure if it was because the character herself was very annoying, or maybe it was the narrator i'm not sure I haven't heard this woman before.
