I Know This Much is True

If asked my top 3 books, this would be one of them. It's so rich with the history of the Birdsey family. It's an incredibly long read. However, the characters are so fleshed out, that they feel like people I know in my daily life. I loved the story inside a story. This book really stuck with me

Jarring at the very beginning of the book. I really enjoyed this book.

I cannot believe I finished this one. 897 pages of first person (which is not my favorite style of writing). I will admit I was hooked by page 100, and by page 500 I still wanted to hang in there and read the ending. The author weaves a grandfather's memoir into the second half of the book and this really adds depth to the story.
