Aredenne, Red to her friends, is sent to Grimm’s Academy on scholarship to avoid her prophecy. Unlike the other ladies at the school, she has no interest in the classes or the balls. Her dream is to join the mysterious Huntsman. Thanks to the skills her father taught her in childhood, she passes the test for entry. The only dark spot is Peter, her former beau, who betrayed her, and seems determined to cause trouble. With the acceptance of the other Huntsman as well as her partner, Kit, she excels at her training and defeats the forces against her.

Returning to Laura Greenwood’s Fairy Tale world with an unconventional heroine for this retelling of Little Red Ridinghood. Red is strong and determined and works hard to meet her goals. She confronts her prophecy head on, fighting to save herself, Kit, and Grandma. Her relationship with Kit evolves naturally and is a match of equals with mutual respect. Altogether a satisfying and enjoyable take on an old tale.
