I love Cardan’s character very much, so reading more about him is always a welcome experience. Reading this book also provides interesting bits of information about his past that we wouldn’t have known without it.

Yes I knew I'd consume this as fast (if not faster) than I did the TCP trilogy, so I saved it to be my first book of the new year. Also, help I'm in love with this world and Cardan and Jude but now I have to move on.

This was written as beautifully as ever, revealing Cardan and his view of the world in his youth, as a young princeling, and then as he is post TCP. Holly Black delivered on the magic of Faerie, and I just want MORE.

I’ve read the other books in this series and loved them, but this is by far my favourite. It has lovely illustrations and made me love Cardan more that I already did.
