Interesting time travel, from 1999 back to Carnuntum, a Roman outpost near Vienna in the 2nd century Nicole is a single mom, lawyer having a very bad day. I Love the descriptions of the SF Valley, I know exactly where everything is. Then Nicole is in the body of Umma, a tavern keeper with two children and a slave. Excellent descriptions of how miserable life was for the working class in those days. A little long before action happens. A lot of lessons learned. A big change of perspective for Nicole
