This is the third book in this series, it can easily be read as a standalone but I would really urge reading the series in sequence to meet all the wonderful characters. Focused, driven ATF Agent Shelby Monroe, had a vested interest in her latest assignment, both her brother and her partner had been killed by the gun runners that she had been chasing. Working undercover with the dangerous drug runners, The Devils MC Club, so she is au fait with the workings of these clubs, the club that she is now tasked with investigating is, on paper, a legitimate business but all is not always what it seems, Shelby will dig deep, she is prepared to keep an open mind, but she is determined to stop the gun runners. The Iron Brotherhood MC is a club set up to give highly trained, ex military personnel, a place to belong when they leave the structure of military life, the club is protective of it's reputation, they work with the community giving help where needed but now they are being investigated by the ATF but why ? Club VP, former Delta Force, Cole Holloway, was furious to find discrepancies in their records, discrepancies that he couldn't trace, a ghost operator is using the club for illegal operations, have they got a renegade member or has someone with know how infiltrated their security ? Shelby and Cole assed each other as they had been trained to do, but there was an obvious spark that was soon to be combustible, both were controlling and used to giving orders, which one would yield ?Could Shelby work with the Iron Brotherhood to help bring her investigation to a conclusion ? would her superiors back her decisions ? could a relationship with Cole work or would she leave when her investigation is finished? This is a great story, I love the ethics of the Iron Brotherhood, I love the support that they give to one another, the story has fast action, suspense and a smouldering romance.
