I found it hard to rate this book 4-5 stars. Some parts captivated me, others left me indifferent. The author’s take on religious themes was bold and might not suit everyone, but the story was gripping. If you’re religious, it may not be your thing—unless you enjoy fantasy or otherworldly adventures, then you’ll be hooked.
There were amusing quirks, like the FMC being pulled to her knees twice on one page, and some anatomy explanations that felt out of place. Even seasoned smut fans can enjoy the passion; sometimes authors get carried away!
Connecting with Juniper, the FMC, was mixed; some traits resonated, others annoyed or confused me. But I kept an open mind. I eagerly read Zane’s chapters, though Juniper’s didn't hold my attention as much.
The books feature demon and human characters breaking gender norms, LGBTQ+ representation, non-binary characters using they/them, and a diverse, inviting, and empowering world.
Love the fact he finds her beautiful not despite of her scars but because of them. She learns not everyone is evil and he learns that some things are worth fighting for
