The book wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. I don’t know, but the FMC seemed a little immature for her age. I know she was sheltered, but overall her character felt very young.
The romance between Finn and Effie was definitely my favorite aspect of this book. I loved the history, tension and angst they had. The spice was good as well. I really loved Effie’s character development. She was a wallflower who found her backbone and it was Finn who really pushed her to be a mafia queen and not just a princess.
The last few chapters had a lot of action and quite were dramatic. It was a bit too over the top in my opinion, but nonetheless entertaining. There were also a few subplots at the end that felt rushed and a bit unresolved, but the conclusion and epilogue were nice though.
