The Crow appeared to protect them and guide them through their grief. The Crow also had the fears of the humans, losing someone valuable but the Crow kept pushing the family to be better for their mother's sake.
What is grief? Grief is complicated, a way to express the love that we have for what is no longer ours. Grief changes and grief heals us, grief drags us but grief gives us hope, hope that we would see these lost ones again. When we are done grieving, we let go of the Crow to become somewhat better than we were before. The Crow says goodbye, look out for the birds, for they look out for us all the time.

I’m not sure what to rate this book as it is unlike anything I’ve read in a long, long while. This reads like a lucid dream of grief written in poetry and prose. It feels subjective, something that I could rate one star or 5 stars depending on my mood.
