The eternal romance of Beauty and the Beast meets the gothic suspense of Dracula in this erotic dark academia story of epic love from bestselling author RuNyx.

An unusual girl. An enigmatic man. An ancient castle. What could go wrong?

An outcast her entire life, Corvina Clemm accepts it as a sign from the universe when she receives an admission letter from the mysterious University of Verenmore. The last thing she expects, though, is an old, secluded castle on top of a mountain, riddled with secrets, deceit, and death.

An enigma his entire life, Vad Deverell is one of Verenmore's greatest secrets. A part-time professor working on his thesis, Vad has been around long enough to know the dangers the castle possesses. And he knows the moment his path crosses with Corvina, she's dangerous to everything that he is.

They shouldn't have caught each other's eye. They cannot be. But a chill-inducing century-old mystery forces them to collide. People have disappeared every five years over the past century, Corvina is getting clues to unraveling it all, and Vad needs to keep an eye on her.

And so begins a tale of the mysterious, the morbid, the macabre, and a deep love that blossoms in the unlikeliest of places.

Was this a lyrical masterpiece? No. But it was never supposed to be! This story was haunting, dark, spicy and had character I feel in love with instantly! It also had a twist at the end I did not see coming!

“Danse Macabre” A beautifully dark story about two lovers who were written in stars…or the bones if you want to keep with the gothic theme the encases this story. The twists and turns will keep you brewing several caffeinated concoctions, just so you can get for the end before the alarm goes off for work. While the characters, plot line, and verbal illustrations are perfectly dark, I do wish there had been a push just a little further into the dark side. The set up for the darkness that plagues the world is there but it is surface deep, somewhat generic although relatable. As for the “smut” side of things… 5 stars. Their evolution from feeding temptation to feeding desire is seamless. From the gentle caresses to deliciously pleasurable acts, you will need to make a note to keep your jaw up and breathe!

Very well written felt like I was in a movie, not reading a book. Felt every touch and muscle tense. Every heartbreaking scene did trigger a strong side of emotions. Definitely pay attention to the ad advisory on the first few pages before reading this book. Definitely was not a book that I could put down. Can’t wait to see what more is in store for these characters.

Little Crow... dark romance, academia, teacher/student trope. Slight age gap only 7 years not super creepy. But if she were a minor you'd be grossed out. Maybe I am a bit now that I've finished the book and I'm thinking soberly. Why I wonder, would a 28 year old man be interested in a 21 year old? Well, it works. I digress. The story was well paced the love scenes were chef's kiss! There were some loose ends that made no sense and this isn't supposed to be a series but they kinda make it seem like there could be more to come. Could be a let your mind make up its own story about whst could happen next. But... I don't know. Too much left unfinished.
