The only problem... the little girl is Asher Whitlock's daughter. Asher is the resident grumpy sheriff in town, which makes him an employee of Phoebe's father... not to mention the history that Phoebe has with babysitting... The last time she babysat, Asher's daughter cut her own hair.
And Asher is smoking hot. He's a gorgeous single dad built like a god with amazing blue eyes. The attraction between Phoebe and Asher is instantaneous. The harder they try to resist, the worse it gets... until they just can't stand it any longer. That's when everything changes... the secret as to why Phoebe is home from school early is about to come out. Keeping it quiet is hard when the secret is as big as this. Phoebe's concerned that her secrets may not only cost her the career she's working to build, but the man she loves as well.
Y'all. Grumpy Sunshine done WELL. This is seriously my favorite trope! There are other tropes in this one as well... some that are not my favorite, but I felt they were well done and fit the story line.
Parts of this title were predictable as you'd expect with romance novels. But the final twist... I NEVER SAW IT COMING.
I adored the relationship between Phoebe and Asher's daughter, it was so incredibly sweet. And ASHER freaking WHITLOCK. As a law enforcement wife myself, this dude is like straight out of my dreams! He was so grumpy, yet lovable. His fierce protection over his family and Phoebe had my heart wanting to burst.
This was my first title by Corinne Michaels and you can bet it won't be my last! I am looking forward to the rest of the Whitlock family series!
