Filthy Rich Vampires: Second Rite

In the city of Melbourne, this is a vampire romance told in a very compelling way. It's the story_Second Rite in the Filthy Rich Vampires #2 series, which looks at the emotional struggle between the vampire Julian and human Thea. Thinking only that he is acting in Thea's interests, Julian decides to leave her, with no compelling reason (apart from death) to tell her how really dangerous it is. A month later he finally leaves his self imposed exile to find that they haven't changed anything and Thea is still in grave danger. Julian, torn between the Councils orders to keep a distance, and the need to protect and win back her love she so dearly once loved, has a daunting task on his hands.

It weaves stories of love, heart break and regret very skillfully. The protagonist, Thea, is tender-hearted; she knits rather then runs, and she is determined to form her own path forward — and try and hold onto her emotions about Julian while doing so. And in the meantime Julian suffers the guilt of having abandoned her, for her own best interests. Her passionate nature makes it impossible to work out even the concept of reconciliation.

Thea and Julian's complex relationship is intriguing, though as hinted by the back blurb there's never a moment when the two aren't playing high stakes and under the constant threat of losing. A rich tapestry of action, supernatural intrigue, and the undeniable potency of reward in the second chance await vampire romance fans from following along on their emotional journey. I have fallen in love with these two, highly recommended!!
