Fables: Legends in Exile, Vol. 1

When a savage creature known only as the Adversary conquered the fabled lands of legends and fairy tales, all of the infamous inhabitants of folklore were forced into exile. Disguised among the "mundys," their name for normal citizens of modern-day New York, these magical characters created their own secret society that they call Fabletown. From their exclusive luxury apartment buildings on Manhattan's Upper West Side, these creatures of legend must fight for their survival in the new world.

I've been told to read this one for a while now, and I'm glad that I finally have. It reminded me a of a strange mix between the TV series "Once Upon a Time" and the classic graphic novel "Watchmen", just a lot less political I guess.
At the end of reading these five...issues? Inserts? Chapters? Whatever you might call them, I was left wanting more, which to me is a very good sign. There are so many characters that are brought up that are left undeveloped, paving the way for numerous follow up stories. And that exactly what they do! From what I understand, there are 20 volumes in total. Ugh. Now I'm gonna have to keep on reading them to get the whoooole story. Drag. ;)
