Every Little Breath

A radio DJ is tormented by a twisted killer, who has a gruesome request.

I was nineteen when I discovered my boyfriend's father was a serial killer.

I stumbled upon his latest victim tied up in the basement of the house he was renovating, and it was my evidence that helped convict him to a life in prison.

My boyfriend never forgave me for turning against his dad and a couple of years later took his own life.

That was fifteen years ago.

I am now a local evening radio presenter, but it seems I can't escape my past.

Late one night, when I'm alone, the phone rings. The caller wants me to solve a riddle, and tells me a life depends on it.

'Only you can save her'

'If she dies it's your fault'

And so, the deadly game begins.

Someone wants revenge.

The perfect read for fans of authors like Clare Mackintosh, Cara Hunter, and Paula Hawkins.

Every Little Breath by Keri Beevis is a chilling psychological thriller about Casey Fallon, a radio presenter still haunted by her past involvement in bringing a serial killer to justice. Fifteen years after her testimony, she receives a disturbing call during her show that links to a new murder—one that mimics the original killer’s methods. As more bodies turn up, Casey is pulled into a deadly game of riddles and must confront buried trauma to stop a copycat before it’s too late. Every Little Breath was our April pick for book club, and honestly, it took me a while to finally pick it up—I didn’t think I’d enjoy it. While the story is a bit of a slow burn and most of the thriller elements felt pretty predictable, what did catch me off guard was the identity of the person behind the murders. And that’s all I’ll say about that! This was my first read by Keri Beevis, and I’m giving it 4 stars. The twist was solid, but I’m still on the fence about her writing style. The chapters wove together different character perspectives, and while that can work, I personally prefer when perspectives are clearly separated for easier reading and flow. This book is for readers who enjoy darker thrillers with a hint of police procedural, layered characters with haunted pasts, and a whodunnit vibe where you're questioning everyone.
