I found most characters to be 2-dimensional, but appreciated the journey Brooke took to understand her place in the world. However, her process was extreme and I fear even more for people, especially women, who travel that road. Not sure I got the ending.
The social commentary in this book was entertaining. The beginning was slow, but Brooke’s evolution into a self-serving and then truly desperate person as she grapples with her proximity to wealth and power kept my interest. Her actions and internal monologues made my jaw drop several times. I feel like we all know entitled people who believe they are owed the world, but Brooke’s journey is interesting to sift through.
Did not particularly like this book. I found the characters to be shallow and self centered
Did not like the authors writing style which made it difficult for me to keep my interest in the story.
