Cordelia + Three (maybe Four) 🤣. That was a good short weekend read, for a rainy day in the city. This is my first reverse harlem romance and it was spicy, but it was nice to see a FMC over 30 and a characters described with ebony skin, and deep brown. There are no main stream traditional publications that features this in the romantasy genre.
The plot is not new or refreshing, the writing style is more like storytelling, and cliche at times. There are multiple POV it's semi well done, sometimes you do have to double check the character you're reading because they aren't given distinct voices even though they have distinct personalities. I wish the author would have taken time to grow the individual relationships with each of her mates I wish the author would have taken time to grow the individual relationships with each of her mates. But the book is under 300 pages.
Bottom line it definitely passes the vibe check.
I am ready for book 2!
