Eleanor & Park: A Novel

A gorgeous first-ever-paperback edition featuring sprayed edges with a stenciled script design.

Bono met his wife in high school, Park says.
So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers.
I'm not kidding, he says.
You should be, she says, we're 16.
What about Romeo and Juliet?
Shallow, confused, then dead.
I love you, Park says.
Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers.
I'm not kidding, he says.
You should be.

Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits-smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you'll remember your own first love—and just how hard it pulled you under.

Cute, sweet, heartbreaking story. It has its flaws, but I zoomed through it like I haven't with any book in a very long time.

4.5 stars | such a wonderful depiction of your first love. this book is a perfect blend of romance and coming of age. a bittersweet ending that felt a little too quick was the only thing i semi-disliked, but other than that, eleanor and park have a special place in my heart :,)

This was the first book ever to make me LITERALLY cry. I know people say that and I sometimes wonder “what do you really mean by cry, though?” Well, let me tell you, that I was CRYING. My lip was actually quivering and my eyes were blurry enough that I had to pause my reading before I could continue.
