I hated this book. I hated all the characters. The main character is dumb. The twist was interesting, but not enough to change my mind about this terrible book

Wow the reviews are so mixed! I have read a lot of thrillers and personally I really enjoyed this one. It kept me on the edge of my seat trying to guess who was the crazy one- Joanne, her new husband, Richard, or the estranged stepdaughter, Chloe.

I really enjoyed this book—it gave off strong The Housemaid vibes and had me totally hooked from the start. It’s a short, easy read that kept the suspense going right to the end. The pacing was great, and it was one of those thrillers that you can devour in a sitting. That said, a few things didn’t sit quite right. The husband's behaviour during the escape felt off and inconsistent—it seemed like it was added purely to serve the twist rather than align with the character’s logic. I just felt that it could have been executed a lot better. The lead characters were also super frustrating. At times I felt myself screaming at them in my head and then eye rolling lol! The way the daughter was described at times also felt a bit odd and then the friendship with Roxanne kept getting mentioned but nothing came of it. I was very surprised by that. Joanne also chose the worst method to call Chloe out. And what was Chloe's motive at the end, if she wanted her father to herself all alone then why did she kill him and not Joanne and Evie??? I would love to hear your thoughts please!
