This was a very refreshing read after reading a lot of insta attraction. No, its not a 2020 Lockdown book as the author states she started writing it in 2019, but its quite ironic that its about an outbreak of a deadly sickness. I loved the concept behind the book, with Robin Hood type dynamics. The only reason I give this a 7 instead of 8 is because of a few bits that read as a scene from a Disney Channel original movie. Over all very enjoyable, will most likely be ordering the rest of the series!
Maybe I'm still riding on a high from a previous great trilogy (The Cruel Prince Trilogy), but I just found this so dull...
The plot was uninspiring, I saw the 'plot twists' coming from a mile away, and the main characters left much to be desired.... Tessa was such a damsel in distress, I didnt see bravery, smarts or the other reaching descriptors that the male lead used. And the male lead?? I was interested in him the first quarter of the book, but gosh, then his brain was all Tessa and the edge he has was lost, to such an extent I was rolling my eyes. Disappointed....
Loved the side characters though. Quint MVP. Rocco too. Even King Harristan had more substance to him.
The narrative was also a little repetitive. Like...Tessa, honey please you said the same thing 2 pages ago, I still remember okay.
I'm content with how this ended and likely won't be picking up the next in the trilogy.
