I decided to read Death's Obsession by Avina At. Graves based on the dedication alone. I don’t know what I was expecting but I was a little puzzled by this story. This was a confusing romance between Death and a girl strongly suffering from depression named Lilith. While the descriptions were something out of Edgar Allan Poe’s short stories, the character development and relationships seemed unfinished and rushed. I wish the story was longer in the hopes that it could be more flushed out and there could be more suspense leading up to the spicy scenes.
What I loved:

What I wasn’t as much a fan of:
💀 The character development and the relationships between them just seemed rushed and unfinished. I found myself more confused than anything
💀 The spicy scenes at times seemed out of place. I think it’s because I had a lot of questions regarding the characters. Additionally, the buildup of the spicy scenes was also hasty which ended up decreasing the spicy scale for me.

Death’s Obsession by Avina St. Graves was a rollercoaster for me. I loved the dark, gothic vibes and the intense, almost haunting chemistry between the characters—it really pulled me in at times. The setting was beautifully eerie, adding to the overall mood. But I did struggle with the pacing; some parts flew by too quickly, while others felt like they dragged on. I also wished there was more depth to the characters to really connect with their emotions. Still, if you’re into dark, twisted romances with a haunting edge, this one might be worth a try.
THIS. WAS. TOO. SHORT. It left me wanting more, this relationship was so good and I didn’t want the book to end. The spicy scenes were absolutely chefs kiss! Super unique take on death and that typical “Hades/Persephone” type vibe relationship. I so badly wanted it to continue and would devour another book just like this.
